6 Days 5 Nights Lake Mnayara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire USD Camping

All our 6-day Africa wildlife safaris, tours, holidays and travel packages, specifically include the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the world famous Ngorongoro Crater National Park in Tanzania. This specific Africa safari and travel itinerary has been designed for visitors with more time on hand for a longer safari or travel tours. It specifically include the Tarangire National Park and have been designed to offer you a total Tanzanian northern circuit safari experience, while keeping your non game-viewing travel time to a minimum.
These unforgettable Africa safaris, tours, holidays and travel packages will take you to the Lake Manyara National Park, one of Tanzania’s most dramatically located wildlife areas, consisting of a shallow but huge soda lake, located at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment. The size of the park makes it perfect for a one-day game drive and is notably famous for its tree-climbing lions. These safaris or holidays travel tours will also take you to the Serengeti National Park, a massive wilderness of 14500 square km, where every day brings a new landscape and a new adventure. Visit the Ngorongoro Crater and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area in Tanzania, featuring one of the highest concentrations of game and arguably the densest population of predators and carnivores in Africa. Here you will witness an amazing spectacle of African wildlife – inside a self-contained world teeming with animals. Finally, your African safari tour will also take you to the Tarangire National Park, which features some of the greatest concentration of game in Tanzania – second only to the Ngorongoro Crater – but less crowded and unspoiled – possessing a wild and unkempt beauty.

Day 1: Lake Manyara National Park
You will be picked-up from your hotel in Arusha at 0730hrs and then be transferred to Lake Manyara National Park. Arrive in time for an early lunch at the camp and then make your way into the park for an afternoon game drive. Lake Manyara is one of Tanzania’s most dramatic wildlife areas, consisting of a massive but shallow soda lake (covering two-thirds of the park), located at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment. The park’s varied habitat attracts a wide variety of animals, including one of Africa’s largest concentrations of elephants, it also boasts unique tree-climbing lions, as well as large flocks of flamingos attracted by the algae in the lake. Your dinner and stay will be at the camp.

Day 2: Lake Manyara - Serengeti
After breakfast we will head towards Serengeti National Park via the beautiful high lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Leaving the highlands behind, we descend into the heart of wild Africa – the Serengeti– with its endless plains rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. We will make our way into the central park area, known as the Seronera, which is one of the richest wildlife habitats in the Serengeti. It features the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to the area and therefore attracts a variety of wildlife.
We will arrive in time for lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive. Your dinner and overnight stay will be in the Seronera campsite area.
Non game-viewing travel time: four to Five hours
Distance: 205 km.

  • Main destination: Serengeti National Park
  • Accommodation: Budget camping Bordering Serengeti NP
  • Meals & drinks: All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)

Day 3: Serengeti National Park
Enjoy an early morning game drive along the Sogore River Circuit, which loops into the plains south of the Seronera River. This drive provides great viewing of lions, Thomson gazelle, topi, ostrich and cheetah. You will eat a relaxing picnic lunch at the centre under the shade of the giant acacia trees.

In the afternoon we will follow the Kopjes Circuit, which goes anti-clockwise around the Maasai Kopjes. This area usually attracts a number of lion and some formidably large cobras. Kopjes are weathered granite outcrops scattered around the plains, most of which are miniature ecosystems that provide shade and drinking water in pools left in the rock after the rains. This makes the kopjes particularly good for spotting wildlife in the dry seasons – including lions, who like to lie in wait for animals coming to quench their thirst.

  • Meals & drinks: All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)

Day 4: Serengeti - Ngorongoro Crater
I do recommend an early morning game viewing from 06:30hrs game viewing, as it will increase your chances of spotting wildlife that wanders in the wilderness very early in the morning and also to increase your chances of spotting lioness and their cabs taking their breakfast in the park after a night hunt.
Later return to the camp for your full breakfast, relax set off for your las game viewing in the Serengeti National park.
After lunch at the camp together with your guide depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation area. We will stop at the Olduvai Gorge, which boasts a history dating back to the dawn of time. It was here that the anthropologists Dr. Lois and Mary Leakey discovered the skulls of ‘Nutcracker Man’ and ‘Handy Man’, both very significant links in the chain of human evolution (museum fee for this sightseeing is payable direct by those who are interested as it is optional).
Continue with the journey to the crater only to arrive in the late afternoon at the Ngorongoro simba campsite, I recommend you relax and get the view of the crater from the rim as you wait to descend down the crater on Day 5 for a full day tour before proceeding to a neighboring park which is Tarangire.
If done this way, you’ll both have time to explore the 600m deep crater than if you both descend the same day from Serengeti as time will be limited to its normal closing time than descending on day 5 from 06:30 hrs to around 15:00 hrs.
The Ngorongoro Conservation Area supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, hippo and giant African elephants. Another big draw card to this picturesque national park is its dense population of predators, which include lions and the ever-elusive leopard. We will also visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner. A large number of flamingos, hippos and other water birds are resident here.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater – Tarangire National Park
As outline on day 4 above, descend into the crater for almost a full day tour this material day together with you guide, ask more questions about flora and fauna. Finally after lunch within the crater leisurely exit the park and depart for Tarangire National Park which runs along the Tarangire River and is primarily made up of low-lying hills on the Great Rift Valley floor.
Its natural vegetation consists mainly of Acacia woodland and giant African Baobab trees, with huge swamp areas in the south. Both the river and the swamps act like a magnet for wild animals during Tanzania’s dry season. The park is reputed to contain some of the largest elephant herds in Africa. It is also home to three rare species of animals – the greater kudu, the fringed-eared oryx, as well as a few ashy starlings. After a picnic lunch we will go on an afternoon game drive till closing time of the park.
Your dinner and overnight stay will be within Tarangire National park.
